Seems like they don’t really understand business travelers schedules either.  I fly ~150 segments a year – none of them on VA – and am very rarely inconvenienced by families traveling. Old people sometimes, but families rarely.  Why? Our schedules are different.  The vast majority of business travelers are in the airports Monday morning, and Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings. There are surprisingly few leisure travelers in the airports at those times – especially leisure travelers who clog up the priority lanes.  Flying at other times, weekends especially, is a completely different matter.  
I’ve never even considered taking a VA flight.  Their network and rewards program are a joke.  When I’m traveling for work I don’t care for the frills at all – normally they get in the way more than anything else.  I’m only looking for a fast, efficient experience – and the ability to earn free flights for my vacations.
